Cheer Camp - Day 1

After arriving at 11 AM and getting settled into our dorms, we went to meet the UCA crew we would be working closely with for the next three days. They sure put everyone to work right away. We learned a new cheer, a new dance, and competed in a few friendly matches. Not only did NPHS Cheerleaders score a spirit stick, but we also won the top Jumper award, a blue ribbon for school cheer, and won the right to the Cheer Banana for the first night. We're hoping to keep it! At the end of the day, many of us were exhausted but had some fun decorating the dorm rooms in a beach theme! What will we think of next? UNK Cheer Camp

Hi Girls! Just a few quick reminders as you are packing away before leaving for our summer cheer camp tomorrow.
Don't forget:

-To wear the appropriate clothing each day
-Sunscreen, you will probably need it
-Towels, Toiletries, Hair products
-Bedding, since we are staying in the dorms
-A water bottle
- And, a huge SMILE!!!

Remember, this weekend is not only to practice your skills and learn new routines, but it is also a chance for you to bond with your team. Come with an open mind and get ready to experience one of the greatest weekends this year!

Camp Day 3

Great,busy, day! The girls got evaluated on their extreme routine where they had to add 3 8 counts to the 4 8 counts that they learned yesterday.....they did amazing and earned another blue! WAY TO GO!

The girls voted last night on which six they wanted to nominate for All American. They chose Tessa, Steph, Ray, Maddi M., Alexis and Brooke to tryout from our team. Tessa, Steph and Brooke all made the All American team! Totally amazing:)

Tessa also won the "pin it forward" which goes to three campers who display repect, leadership and spirit. These girls are choosen by UCA staff! We are proud of you!!

Maddie L. won our "Party Animal" award for rockin' it out during hip hop dance 2 class and Abby won our "#1" Award for picking up the extreme routine so quickly!

Tomorrow, we have cheer evalutioins, routine evals and camp championship! We have had a great week but we are all pooped!! The girls worked hard today and we even shed tears (Stacey and I included!) during team building time. We have grown so close this week...it's gonna be a great year!

Camp Day 2

Awesome day of camp!!! Tonight we had a "jump off" competition against the other teams. Alexis, Laura Cox, Bailey and Brooke competed and Brooke made it to the final round and earned a Blue ribbon which means her jumps were game ready!!! WAY TO GO!

They rocked their routine tonight in the cheer evaluations!! They got all 5's except one 4 ls on their motions which they wanted stiffer. They were so amazing!!

We also enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of swimming, sliding, sleeping and sunning!! :) Spent lots of time tonight visiting and laughing our butts off in Alice and Stacey's room! Alexis won the "wild thing" award for leading spirit cheers at camp and Jesse and Ray won Super Star Awards for being the last girls on our team left standing during team time games.
